dull update
Aug. 30th, 2004 09:12 pmI haven't posted for a while, partly because I've been happier than usual, and partly because I remembered I had Unreal Tournament on this computer.
I've still got a few deathmatch levels to go, which is a pity because I like all the other games better than deathmatch. I really like assaults, and CTF. I found the weirdest thing while playing CTF - if you go past one of your team who has the enemy flag and is returning it, and you head past him towards the enemy base, then either a) you meet the guys chasing him who would've blown him away and returned the flag or b) you have a really easy time getting into the unguarded enemy base, and can take their flag just as soon as it shows up there again, giving you a nice easy exit jog because none of the enemy team are in decent defensive positions.
Also this week, I made it to a medieval event. Hurrah! Unfortunately, the display had been planned by some sort of archery guy, so our role in the display as billmen was to amble gently up a hill, making sure we didn't go too fast, and then all get shot. Nice. I got shot at about four feet, but it was very gentle. Frankly, this could've been better planned - we got to the top, and the non-combatant archers were still shooting us from within bill range, while we had to hit the two armed combatants present. We all had to fight very badly indeed.
Ah well, it was a nice relaxing day of sun, showers, and wearing wool. When I put my jeans on afterwards they felt oddly unnatural.
I will mostly be going to batfink this friday, but sadly the Exiting Outfit of Doom will not be ready quite in time *cough* couple of months *cough*, so something less extravagant will be done. If any of you have an funny ideas about clashing, it'll be black and white.
Right, now I have to get back to my hectic schedule of reading webcomics and avoiding tidying up.
