Rock and/or roll
Jan. 23rd, 2006 12:50 pmSoo... with Morecake away I had an entire weekend to rock and/or roll, pick up chicks, indulge in hobbies and vices, and of course, tidy my room.
So I went out wargaming,
635 to 378 at 1000 points...
A hero on an eagle costs 178 points... but because he's the general and Pure of Heart (stupid elf rule) he costs 378 VP's if you lose him. There was a one wound chariot with a charge arc on him. Mages spell -> nothing. His magic bow, with three S5 shots, hitting on a 2. Nothing. Repeater bolt thrower on full auto, nothing.
Well, okay, that's bad, but his eagle will take 2/3 of the impact hits, so he should survive, right?
Eagle took one. He took four. He died.
The eagle didn't even have the good grace to take the damn chariot with it. Four attacks and no wounds?
I'd say, what are the odds, but I already know. It's about 3.8% to miss with all the shooting. Then it's about 37% to fail with the eagle.
On the other hand, even without that, I still only drew. I think my main mistake was to take some infantry. My second mistake was to bother engaging in combat - I should've just carried on retreating.
Fucking beastmen. You kill half the damned army, and it still isn't worth anything. 20 models that move as skirmishers but get ranks and fight as well as basic elves? 174 points. 20 basic elves with reduced mobility? 220.
Anyway, and then spent the rest of the evening and all of sunday with a migraine. Reacting logically, I sat in a darkened room staring at a computer screen. As a side effect, I can recommend the webcomic boy meets boy.
*sighs*
I also finished watching Futurama. It's all gone. Good ending though - musical finale...
Man I feel old.
*puts his fingerless gloves on and starts grumbling about things*
