I need a word. The word should mean "The satisfaction and indeed enjoyment that comes from using a tool that is a very good example of it's type, being both functional and pleasantly tactile".

This comes up surprisingly often. In the warehouse right now we have 36 rolls of brown tape that need this word. Normal brown tape is thin and tends to tangle and makes scritchy noises. This stuff is thick and smooth and makes noises that could have come from a sci-fi film. I mean htat last in a good way.

As parent of child that gave the world the verb 'dirgle' which means 'to dig for worms' and 'phurp' which means 'to suck the water from your toothbrush' I can only offer the word- 'sensuent', sensual, ambient and lovely!

I normally just make do with exclaiming "Ooh yay!" in that kind of situation.

I didn't realise you work in a warehouse too :-)

Them Germans, they bombed our chippy have a word for everything. How about "Werkzeugfreude" (Tool-joy). If that's too suggestive, try "Funktionfreude" or "Designfreude".
