sooo... I went out to batfink, and wore a basque, and had a good time. Also I seem to have got drunk along the way, how atypical. I don't want to go to bed yet, I'm not sober enough.

Anyway, batfink was fun, and wearing a basque was alright, but the boots really hurt my feet. Also chucking out at one seems a little early. Fortunately this will be solved by magic new venue. Hurrah.

Lalalalalah.... I danced... but evidently not enough. A proper night out should involve so much dancing that when you get home, you are so tired you have to eat and then collapse. I am drunk and in pain, but still energetic. Hence I have not danced enough. I don't know what I can do though, I danced to every song I remember even vaguely liking.

My outfit attracted a mixture of liking and fear, with emphasis on the latter. I have no idea how much of it was posturing and how much was genuine dislike, which is obviously not a good thing. I sometimes wonder, if I saw a bloke in a dodgy outfit and didn't enjoy it, but thought it was cool, what would I say to him? Then I get stuck because dodgy is evidently different for me.

You looked fantastic in your outfit. If anybody didn't approve then they were just jealous coz they couldn't get away with it and shoudln't have been at a Rocky Horror night if they weren't prepared to see blokes wearing very small clothes. My feet hurt lots too and I didn't even have silly shoes on.

Well you know what I thought of your outfit- I was a bit unsure before I saw it TBH but you looked pretty sexy to me, in the end just think that the opinions that matter most are those of your friends, some fuckwits will always stand round criticising people.

people don't like it when you mess with gender concepts. alot of people are fine with it if you go for full drag/cross dressing, but anything else is a bit too grey and makes peoples heads hurt. Especially MtoF, since YSL made masculine trouser suited androgyny officially accpetable for women.
I think anyone wearing a basque needs to get one that fits properly, but thats my issue.

Seems likely. I suppose full drag is understood to be just "dressing up for fun and it's very silly" and therefore non-threatening, in the same way that all gay people on TV play up the camp bit to avoid being threatening.

I think its a bit more complicated than that, I think theres something about if you go the full way then you're no longer challenging the gender dichotomy, but in between might imply that its a continuum, and people are happier with dichotomies than continuums (continuii?).
I may be talking rubbish. I only started thinking about this recently due to the mad stocking people.

I didn't, cats have very long limbs when they are cross. We have been away (bugsy's wedding, saw pete, decided i dont like him, you will be pleased to know that his post-daisy gf is a complete snorkelface, with very bad dress sense) and I think the cat forgot that he's ok with me picking him up now. Oh well. I cleaned it and froze it with icecream and have managed to keep the swelling to a minimum.
