It's one of the signs you're an adult - you stop getting better from things.
You go and see the doctor, and instead of saying "drink this yucky bananananana medicine, and in two weeks you'll be fine" they say "well, basically, we've got no effective treatments, so tough". These are my doctors responses to various questions I've asked, translated from vacilitating medical diplomatic answer into proper english.
"Is there anything I can do about this arthritis lark?
Take painkillers.
Is there anything I can do about getting Migraines, since I had my first one the other day and it got me sent home from work?
No. Treat it like a hangover.
My left ear isn't working. The other doctor said the tube joining it to my mouth was probably blocked by something. That was four years ago. Is there anything I can do about it?
No
My tendons feel all itchy in my wrists. I keep feeling them, and I'm sure they shouldn't draw my attention like that.
*predicted response* Tough.
Seriously, is there much point going in and asking them about it? They'll probably tell me to use the pooter less. Good thought that.
Also, they seem to be sponsored by Nurofen, since they keep recommending it over generic Ibuprofen. Fools.
