Yesterday was a long day. We had our work christmas do, so at twelve we left work for a restaurant. At half three we left the restaurant for the pub. At ten I got home.
Today I feel a little worse for it.
At home I watched some buzzcocks, and then posh nosh. Last year for Christmas I bought my mum a book of old songs. The last song in the book was called "The raggle-taggle gypsies". At the time I was about 99% sure it was the music used at the end of posh nosh. Now I'm 100% sure. The tune is similar to one of the themes used in "Fantasia on British sea songs", although different enough that I can't be sure that that part of the fantasia is based on it. Does anyone know?
Of course, that led me to a terrible problem, I had the fantasia in my head and was very drunk, so I promptly stomped around the house trying to do the stampy dance. Oh dear. Fortunately I don't think anyone was in.
Today is my last work day before christmas, and tomorrow Morecake and I should be heading for St Helens, so if I don't see you before then, Merry/Happy [appropriate holiday of your choice].
