Jan. 9th, 2006 01:24 pmLast week I got the complicated finance query from hell. It was alright at the time because a) I thought my responsibility stopped half way through and b) last week I wasn't busy.
Today is (financial system) closedown, which means the rest of this week is entriely devoted to running costs. Worse, I've just found that the second half of the query is mine too, and I've never done that part before.
If you ever run a large business, don't make decisions about who does what based purely on the size of the offices and teams. Moving work to people who don't know what they're doing simply because it'll fill an empty room and let you finish emptying the room the original team were in is a bad idea.
Meanwhile, in non-work news, it's something resembling two weeks until evil book day, and I have 1400 pages to go. It's possible I won't finish it in time.
Since going out, I have lost the ability to move my neck and upper back.
I think its metal* poisoning.
*wants to go back to bed*
*insert horn-throwing here
